These terms and conditions apply to all services provided by Carbon Killerz("we", "us", "our"). By booking a service — whether by phone, website form or any other method — you ("the Customer") agree to these terms in full.
Carbon Killerz is a fully mobile vehicle engine services business based in Bingley, West Yorkshire. We provide hydrogen carbon cleaning, DPF filter cleaning, engine re-mapping, diagnostics and smoke testing at the Customer's chosen location across West Yorkshire and surrounding areas. Enquiries can be directed to AJ on 07388 808861 or via the contact form at www.carbonkillerz.co.uk.
A contract is formed when we confirm your booking and you accept our Quotation — either in writing, verbally, or by allowing work to commence. Prices shown on our website are starting prices only and may vary by vehicle make, model, engine size and condition. We will always confirm the final price for your specific job before any work begins.
Quotations remain valid for seven (7) days from the date issued unless a shorter period is stated. We reserve the right to withdraw or revise a Quotation before acceptance.
You may cancel a booking without charge provided you give us at least 24 hours' notice before the agreed appointment time. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice, or where our technician attends and is unable to access the vehicle or location, may incur a call-out fee to cover travel costs. We will always inform you of any such charge before attending.
Where a service has not yet commenced, consumers contracting off-premises may also have statutory cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
Payment is due on completion of the work unless alternative terms have been agreed in writing. We accept payment by bank transfer, debit card, credit card or cash. We reserve the right to require a deposit for larger or multi-stage jobs; this will be stated in your Quotation.
If payment is not received when due, we reserve the right to recover outstanding amounts through a debt collection agency or by legal action. You will be liable for all reasonable costs we incur as a result of non-payment.
You are responsible for ensuring we have safe, reasonable access to the vehicle and a suitable working area at the agreed location. If access is unavailable or unsafe on arrival, we reserve the right to charge a call-out fee and reschedule the appointment.
You must inform us before the appointment of any known faults, modifications, prior repairs or other conditions that may affect the Services. Pre-existing faults or damage disclosed or discovered during work remain the responsibility of the vehicle owner and do not affect our charges unless we agree otherwise in writing.
We will carry out all Services to a professional standard using appropriate equipment. However, the outcomes of some services — in particular hydrogen carbon cleaning, DPF cleaning and diagnostics — can be affected by the underlying mechanical condition of the vehicle, factors beyond our control, or pre-existing faults that were not apparent before work began.
Where we identify during a job that a service is unlikely to resolve the Customer's symptoms, or that a more serious underlying fault is present, we will advise you honestly and, where possible, recommend the most appropriate course of action before proceeding. We will not carry out work we do not believe will benefit the vehicle without your informed consent.
Diagnostics: A diagnostic fee is charged for the assessment and use of our equipment regardless of whether you proceed with further work as a result. This will be disclosed at the time of booking.
Engine re-mapping: A remap constitutes a modification to your vehicle. You are responsible for notifying your insurer and complying with any terms of your vehicle's warranty. We will always back up the original ECU file before making any changes.
Unless stated otherwise in your Quotation, our labour carries a 30-day guarantee. If you experience a directly related problem within this period, contact us and we will investigate and, where appropriate, return to rectify the issue at no additional charge.
The guarantee does not apply to:
We take every reasonable care when working on your vehicle. Our liability to you is limited to the direct cost of rectifying any damage we cause through our negligence, up to the value of the Services provided. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as loss of earnings, alternative transport costs or vehicle downtime, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for:
We process your personal information in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Full details are set out in our Privacy Policy.
Neither party shall be liable for failure or delay in performing obligations where such failure or delay results from causes beyond their reasonable control, including severe weather, vehicle breakdown, road closures or other unforeseen events. We will contact you as soon as reasonably possible and aim to rearrange promptly.
If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service, please contact us in the first instance by calling 07388 808861. We are committed to resolving complaints fairly and promptly. If we are unable to resolve your complaint to your satisfaction, you may seek further advice from Citizens Advice (citizensadvice.org.uk) or Trading Standards.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except that consumers retain the right to bring proceedings in the courts of their country of residence.
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always published on our website at www.carbonkillerz.co.uk/terms. Continued use of our services after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
