Hydrogen carbon cleaning — also called HHO cleaning — introduces a controlled flow of hydrogen-rich gas into your engine's air intake while it runs. The hydrogen reacts with the carbon deposits on your valves, EGR, intake manifold and combustion chambers, breaking them down so they burn off and exit through the exhaust. The process is completely non-invasive: no engine strip-down, no chemicals added to your oil.
On most vehicles that have covered 20,000+ miles — especially diesels and direct-injection petrols — yes. Customers typically notice sharper throttle response, smoother idle and improved fuel economy within a short drive after the clean. If we believe the symptoms point to something mechanical rather than carbon build-up, we'll tell you before taking your money.
Yes. The process uses hydrogen and oxygen produced by electrolysing distilled water — there are no abrasive particles and no chemicals introduced into your oil. It's a widely recognised non-invasive method used on both petrol and diesel engines. We've never had a claim of engine damage as a result of a carbon clean.

As a general guide, every 20,000–30,000 miles keeps deposits in check. If you do a lot of short trips, low-speed town driving or use a diesel mainly for commuting, you may benefit from a clean sooner — those driving patterns are the fastest way to build up carbon.
Carbon build-up starts from day one, but in practice most vehicles benefit most between 30,000 and 100,000 miles. On a newer car, a clean is more of a preventative measure; on an older higher-mileage vehicle it can make a very noticeable difference.
A diesel particulate filter (DPF) sits in the exhaust and traps soot particles to reduce emissions. It periodically burns off that soot in a process called regeneration. If you mainly do short, slow or low-temperature journeys, the regen never completes properly, soot accumulates and eventually the filter blocks — triggering the DPF warning light and, in many cases, limp mode.
In the majority of cases, yes. Unless the filter is physically cracked, melted or has internally collapsed, a proper professional clean restores flow and clears the fault codes. A new OEM DPF from a main dealer can cost well over £1,000 fitted; our clean starts at £249. We only recommend replacement when the filter is genuinely beyond saving — and we'll show you exactly why.
Yes — once the filter is cleared and a full regeneration cycle has completed, the light goes off and stays off, provided the driving pattern that caused the blockage is also addressed. We'll explain what triggered the blockage and what you can do to prevent it happening again.
Yes. Our DPF cleaning service is fully mobile. We'll come to your home or workplace, clean the filter, force or assist a regeneration where required, and clear the stored fault codes — all without you needing to drive to a garage.
A DPF clean typically takes 1–2 hours depending on the severity of the blockage and the vehicle. In some cases, a forced regeneration cycle needs to run to completion before we can confirm the fault is cleared, which adds time.
Your engine's ECU (Engine Control Unit) manages fuelling, boost pressure, ignition timing and other parameters using a map — essentially software written to suit every market the vehicle is sold in globally. That means it's a compromise. A remap rewrites that software for your specific engine and your specific goals, whether that's more power, better fuel economy or a more responsive throttle.
It varies considerably by vehicle. On a turbocharged diesel, gains of 20–40 bhp and 50–80 Nm of torque are typical. Turbocharged petrols usually see 15–30 bhp. Naturally aspirated engines see smaller gains. We'll advise what your specific vehicle can safely achieve before you commit.
When done properly, yes. We build maps within safe limits for your specific engine hardware and never chase numbers at the expense of reliability. If your goals aren't realistic or safe for the car — for example a high-mileage engine with worn components — we'll tell you straight.
Always. We back up your original ECU file before making any changes. The car can be returned to factory standard whenever you want — before a dealer service, an insurance inspection, or if you sell the vehicle.
Yes. A remap is a modification and you have a legal obligation to declare it to your insurer. Failure to do so can invalidate your policy. We'll provide a record of the work carried out for your files.
On many turbocharged diesels and petrols, an economy-focused remap improves MPG — particularly on longer motorway journeys — because the engine achieves the same progress with less throttle input. Results vary by vehicle and driving style, but typical improvements of 5–15% are common.
A cheap consumer code reader reads generic fault codes from the engine management module and stops there. We use dealer-level equipment that reads every control module in the vehicle — engine, gearbox, ABS, airbags, body electronics and more — including manufacturer-specific codes that generic readers can't interpret. We also watch live sensor data while the engine runs, which is how you find the actual cause of a fault rather than just the symptom.
Our diagnostic fee covers the time and equipment used for the assessment, regardless of outcome. In some cases a fault is intermittent and may not present during the session — if that happens, we'll explain what we found, what the stored codes suggest and what to monitor going forward.

No. The vapour used is non-toxic and leaves no residue inside the engine. It's specifically formulated for this type of testing and is safe for all petrol and diesel engines.
Yes — smoke testing is one of the most effective ways to find boost leaks on turbocharged engines. We pressurise the intake side and watch for smoke escaping from split intercooler pipes, loose hose clamps, cracked charge pipes or failing inlet manifold gaskets.
Absolutely — they complement each other perfectly. The diagnostic tells us which system is misbehaving; the smoke test shows exactly where the leak is. We can do both in a single visit.
